Boywithuke Announces First Ever World Tour

The mysterious masked music phenomenon Boywithuke has just announced that he will be going on tour this year in North America, Asia, Australia, and Europe! Special guest Naethan Apollo will be accompanying him for his North America shows. Producing music independently with his signature ukulele and the Garageband app, Boywithuke has swept up crowds throughout the world with his viral hits such as “Toxic” and “IDGAF” (ft. blackbear). His latest releases include “Out of Reach,” which he recently debuted on a virtual Roblox concert to support KidsRelief, and “idtwcbf (friends),” whose lyric video has dreamy lo-fi visuals that reference his old songs and maintain a mellow atmosphere.

This upcoming tour will be his first time headlining a world tour after opening for AJR on their OK Orchestra tour throughout 2022. Usually described as alt-pop, his songs incorporate lo-fi beats, rap, catchy ukulele instrumentals, and confessional, often melancholy lyrics. Although he is growing to become more well-known in the music industry, he still maintains anonymity and chooses to stay masked to allow listeners to focus mainly on his music and not his appearance. This approach has proved to be successful and largely effective, as his fans are captivated by his blend of strong emotional lyricism, reverberating vocals and whistles, and the ukulele tunes that define his style. He has stated in an interview with Billboard that he was forced into learning classical music at a young age, and as he grew up he distanced himself from traditional music. When he picked up the ukulele years later, he started writing songs that contain a raw and self-made feel, as opposed to a more traditional route of making and producing music. His music seems to be an expressive revolt against both the rigidity of traditional music-making and the stresses of social life.

With his uniquely distinct vibe of sad bedroom pop, Boywithuke’s music makes for the perfect tunes to listen to when you’re driving through the streets at night, contemplating life. His fanbase lies predominantly within youth who can relate to his struggles with personal relationships, anxiety, depression, and loneliness—showing a range of the expressions of feeling and emotion that are very human and common to many. This upcoming tour marks the beginning of an inspiring journey with great things to come for this artist who claims to be “just a boy with a ukulele.”
