This Week in Music

Updated: Oct 21, 2023

The ever-changing world of music stops for no-one, and this week was no exception.

Rex Orange County, after being gone nearly a year of all social media presence, has begun promoting his new album. He took to Twitter to hint at it, giving a phone number that when you call, includes a short snippet of what appears to be a new song.

Indie pop singer Mitski dropped Love Me More, the fourth single drop for her new album Laurel Hill, which is set to drop on February 4.

Brockhampton announced an indefinite hiatus this week, taking to Instagram a post of a yellow square with black text giving vague details to the group's separation. The group, which has been together for the last 8 years, is refunding anyone who had tickets to their tour.

This week, many mourn the death of Ronnie Spector, the legendary singer that began The Ronettes. The group is thought to have revolutionized rock music, especially as women of color in a then White male dominated field. A biopic of the late star, starring Zendaya, who was chosen by Spector herself, is in the works.

That's this week in music!
